




December 11, 2011: The Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation organized a
blood donation camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan Sector
15-D, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Brig. P. S.
Cheema, Additional Member Incharge, Medical and Social
Welfare, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Delhi. He said, “Sant
Nirankari Mission is a spiritual movement which provides God
knowledge to all mankind and also contributes to social
activities as well.”
Elaborating about the Blood Donation Camps he said that
the chain of these camps was started in the year of 1986, in
which Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh ji Maharaj had said, “The blood
should flow in veins not in drains.” In execution of his
direction, the Nirankari devotees are donating blood regularly.
In today’s camp 370 devotees donated their blood including 90
ladies.
Brig. Cheema that further, the total 2633 blood donation
camps have been organized by the Sant Nirankari Mission since
1986, in which 4,75,527 units of blood were donated. During the
year 2011-12, more than 51000 have been donated. The Mission is
also contributing in social services likes training in Tailoring
& Embroidery, Charitable Dispensary, providing help in Natural
Calamities including help to old aged and widows.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B.S. Cheema, Zonal Incharge,
Charndigarh said that 16 blood donation camps have been
organized in the Chandigarh zone till date, in which 4252 units
of blood have been donated. A Nirankari couple namely Shri
Gurmail Singh and Smt. Harjeet Kaur were also honored, who have
donated blood 81 and 43 times respectively.
Shri Mohinder Singh, Parmukh and Shri Sohan Singh Banga,
Mukhi Sector 15 area were also present on this occasion. They
thanked all the donors and the blood collecting team led by Dr.
Usha Rao from PGIMER, Chandigarh.
