April 24 is a big landmark in the
history of Nirankari Mission. It is on this day Baba
Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj sacrificed his life for the
principles of truth, humility, compassion and selfless
service to humanity.
In continuation of the same spirit and upholding the basic
principles of the Mission to serve, the Vancouver branch
participated in this noble cause on Saturday, April 23, 2011 by
organizing a blood donation camp, which is a regular feature of
Vancouver branch for the last several years. These blood
donation camps are held twice every year to facilitate all
saints to participate in this humane cause and seek blessings of
His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj.

Saints, both young and old, first time donors to experienced
volunteers, took time out of their busy schedule to get together
at Canadian Blood services Centre in Surrey to donate blood and
thereby follow the message of their Satguru His Holiness Baba
Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “Blood should flow in veins and not
in drains”. Some saints who were there to donate blood, were not
able to donate due to the strict donation guidelines. The
genuine intention of these saints is recognized as well. The
next blood donation campaign will be held in October/November
this year. This selfless service and an opportunity to serve the
community was very well appreciated by local clinic officials.
Next day on Sunday, April 24, Manav Ekta Diwas Samagam was
held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan in Richmond, British
Columbia. Rev. Daljit Sahib Ji presided. All the saints paid
tributes to the great sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji
Maharaj and Chacha Partap Singh Ji. A Sewa Dal rally was held at
the Bhawan before the Samagam in which all Sewa Dal members
participated.
A video Vichar by His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh
ji Maharaj was played. Langar (community meal) was served
after the congregation.
