The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)
manages the Harmony Day event in Australia to celebrate what
makes each Australian unique and share what we have in
common. The event is usually celebrated on March 21 every
year. March 21 also happens to be United Nation's
International Day for the Elimination of Racial
Discrimination.
For 2011, the message for Harmony Day as decided by DIAC is
that all Australians are a welcome part of our country,
regardless of their background. The central theme of Harmony Day
is very much in alignment with the core principal of Universal
Brotherhood under the Fatherhood of One Formless God propagated
by Sant Nirankari Mission.

Recognizing this alignment SNM, Sydney decided to organize
the Harmony Day Event in Blacktown Council Area of Sydney on May
7, 2011. Besides SNM Sydney, we had participation from Bidwill
Uniting Church, Bidwill; Baha’i Community of Blacktown;
Ahmadiyya Muslim Association of Australia Mosque at Marsden
Park; and Sri Lankan Buddhist Vihara Association, Schofields.
The event received full support of Federal and State MPs of
surrounding areas and the Mayor and councillors of the Blacktown
City Council. We had participation of Ms Michelle Rowland,
Federal MP of Greenway; Ms Julie Owens, Federal MP for
Parramatta; Mr John Robertson, NSW State MP for Blacktown and
State Opposition Leader; Mr Bart Bassett, NSW State MP for
Londonderry and Mayor of Hawkesbury; Mr Andrew Rohan, NSW State
MP for Smithfield; Ms Kathie Collins, Deputy Mayor of Blacktown
City Council; Mr Stephen Bali, Councillor, Blacktown; and Ms
Jacqueline Donaldson, Councillor.

With an audience of over 100 people the event was a great
success. Rev Romy Gauba of Sant Nirankari Mission acquainted
everyone with the core message of Universal Brotherhood of
Mankind under the Fatherhood of Almighty Nirankar as taught by
His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji. He further mentioned that His
Holiness is tirelessly reaching out to entire mankind to reveal
the knowledge of Almighty Nirankar and bring out a mental reform
of the human race by removing the malice of differences caused
by caste, creed, colour, wealth and endowing their hearts with
love, compassion and mercy.

In her address to the audience, Ms Michelle Rowland, Federal
MP, praised the spirit of warmth and hospitality demonstrated by
SNM volunteers and acknowledged the Missions contribution to the
community in Blacktown Area. She appreciated the opportunity
given for interfaith dialogue by organization of the Harmony Day
event. She further mentioned that she looks forward to the next
visit of His Holiness to Australia to spread his message of
peace and unity.
Our saints presented a beautiful Qawali glorifying Nirankar,
sung by Rev Raman Sharma, Rev Samroop Grover and party with
verses in both English and Hindi. The event was coordinated
successfully by Rev Amit Grover.

In the end Rev Chanbir Singh and Rev Shashi Grover
distributed certificates to all leaders attending the event as a
token of our appreciation and the Deputy Mayor of Blacktown
distributed certificated to all participating organizations.
