To mark the start of Interfaith week (21st Nov – 27th Nov
2010), Haworth Rd Methodist Church, Bradford organised and
celebrated with a special gathering of multi-faiths from
across the Yorkshire region. Along with representatives
from various other faiths, the Nirankari Mission Yorkshire
branch was also invited for the first time to represent and
join in this event marking the ‘Week of Prayer For World
Peace’.
The SNM contingent included youngsters who attended the
programme under the guidance of Local committee members Rev
Kulbinder Saandal and Rev Atma Ram Ji. They were warmly
greeted by local Minister Rev Ian Griffiths and senior
parishioners.
The event was inaugurated by a warm welcome to the
Nirankari Mission by Mrs Awais Mughal on behalf of the
church. Following on Brother Bhupinder Chohan introduced the
attendees with the philosophy and ideology of the Mission;
reiterating that this Divine knowledge is not about
converting the masses but to enhance the understanding of
this Almighty God. No matter what your belief is; whether
you’re Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian be 100% in your
faith; but above all be a good human being as God always
intended.
This point was also reflected by Dr Joy Barrow, Inter
Faith Relations Officer, who said Christians may enter into
such dialogue with people of other faith; in the faith that
God will give them a deeper insight into the truth of
Christ; because refusing opportunities for such dialogue
would be denial of both tolerance and Christian love.
Following on, a melodious Gazal by Sudeepa Ji instilled a
spiritually peaceful bliss connecting all who sat enjoying
the unifying message of love, peace and tolerance. She had
travelled from India the night before on a short transit to
the UK. The song was translated in English for the benefit
of all by brother Vishavpreet Singh ji stating that it’s
God's will that all people in this world co-exist
peacefully, with tolerance and love for one another, and
that this is being exemplified by Nirankari Mission.
Rev Kulbinder Saandal Ji read the prayers for mankind on
behalf of Nirankari Mission and shared His Holiness’ message
of Universal Brotherhood for ALL through the fatherhood of
God.
All attendees admired the message of the Nirankari
Mission and for its tireless efforts in building bridges
across the communities; irrespective of social backgrounds
or beliefs, and joined in the prayer that these bridges grow
stronger and keep on bringing us all together to rejoice and
sing praises of this Almighty God.
