With the blessings of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Nirankari Mandal's Youth Front (Social Service Department), Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar organized an 'Eye Camp" under the guidance of Pramukh Shri J.S. Tiwari with the cooperation of National Blindness Control Program on May 9, 2010 at the premises of Cadelgunj Primary School, which comes in Chholdaari branch in South Andaman. In this camp, medical staff checked the patients under guidance of Dr. Anita Shah, who is the eye specialist at G.B.Pant Hospital run by State Health Services Board, and Deputy Director, National Blindness Control Program.

In the camp, which lasted from 9 a.m to 3 p.m, 110 cases from Dusnabad, Ramnagar, Cadelgunj, Aniket and Farargunj were examined. Out of these, 12 cases of cataract, 1 case of childhood blindness, 2 cases of petrigium and 22 cases of refractive error were found.

During the camp, members of the National Blindness Control Program team discussed various eye related diseases and distributed pamphlets amongst the villagers.
