11th Blood Donation Camp at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar
Islands




11th voluntary blood donation camp was held at Sant
Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Junglighat, Port Blair on August
22, 2010 at 09.30 a.m. in association with Andaman & Nicobar
AIDS Control Society. 82 persons were registered and out of
them 70 persons donated their blood and 12 other of special
blood group kept in reserved for emergency.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Miss Archana Arora,
Principal Secretary, Health emphasized the importance of
donating blood for the needy people who at times lose their
lives due to lack of blood.
Dr. N. Sadasivan, Director of Health Services, A&N Islands
mentioned that donating blood was in fact a very healthy and
novel act. It in fact enables the bone marrow in the long bones
of human body to produce more RBC’s.
The Zonal Incharge, West Bengal, Shri Arjan Singh Ji,
appraised the august gathering of the various humanitarian
activities the Mission was undertaking at a global level. He
brought out that the Mission was successfully operating 4
hospitals, 166 dispensaries, 5 eye Centers, 4 dental centers and
10 labs throughout India.
In the end, Pramukh, SNM Branch, Port Blair, Shri GS Tiwari
welcomed the gathering and thanked every one for having spared
their valuable time on a holiday to grace the occasion.
