





With the benign blessings of His Holiness Baba Hardev
Singh Ji Maharaj the Manav Ekta Samagam or Human Unity Day
was celebrated at the Sydney Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan
in the presence of Rev Amrik Singh Ji from Sant Nirankari
Mandal Delhi HQ.
Saints of all age groups came to attend the special
Samagam and expressed their understanding and significance
of Human Unity Day. They recited hymns, poems and narrated
their individual experiences. Many gave references to the
blood donation camp that had taken place the day before and
spoke of how we should serve selflessly keeping in mind the
teachings of the Almighty.
Some speakers spoke about their personal and direct
experiences with Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. They spoke of the
love and affection they received from him and his dedication
toward spreading the message of truth, unity and universal
brotherhood. In the congregation following the assassination
of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh
Ji told his followers that the only way to avenge his death
was to turn hatred into love and spread divinity with much
more vigor among all people to fulfill the task taken up by
the great Guru who had made the supreme sacrifice for the
sake humanity and human values. Nirankari Babaji's
directions were to spread the message of Truth to every
corner of the world and ensure that "Blood flows in veins
and not in drains".
Rev Ram Chand Ji from Adelaide spoke of the time when he
was blessed with the opportunity to listen to a discourse by
Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. In his discourses Baba Gurbachan
Singh Ji stated that the mission would not be publicized
through posters and banners. He went on to say that the
mission was publicizing itself through its saints and that
these saints were living posters and banners, reflecting the
teachings of the mission through their good deeds. Rev Amrik
Singh Ji, Mrs Gurmeet Kaur Ji, Mrs. Shashi Ji, Mrs.
Swatantra Gujral Ji, Rev Chanbir Ji spoke about the great
martyrdom of the great Master, at the behest of the
fanatics, for the sake of humanity and mankind. Mr. Puneet
Adhen ji recited a devotional song befitting the occasion in
the memory of Satguru's supreme sacrifice.
The Samagam was filled with a mixture of emotions varying
from happiness, contentment, amazement, and tears of
appreciation for the sacrifices made by Baba Gurbachan
Singh and Rev Partap Singh Ji and several other devotees
from Punjab and other states who stood firm and sacrificed
their lives for the sake of truth and their names will be
embedded in golden words in history of mission. In
particular, the wisdom and experiences shared by sister
Gurmeet Ji (wife of Rev Amrik Singh ji) touched each soul
present in the Samagam and left the saints wanting to hear
more.
In his postulation, Rev Amrik Singh Ji stated that April
24th, 1980 will be remembered forever by people all over the
world, the day when Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji sacrificed his
life and became a symbol of humanity, peace and love. He
stated that we see and hear of soldiers giving their lives
for their country all the time, but only the True Master and
his devotees did sacrifice their lives in order to uphold
human values and establish peace, unity and human
brotherhood.
The Samagam ended with the final prayer and the community
meal was served to all the saints who attended. The
attendance was about 250 and the congregation was held in a
special designed marquee just in front of Sangat hall. The
Samagam was a grand success.
