Sant Nirankari Mission,
Melbourne was honoured again by local Member of Parliament,
Mr Nick Wakeling MP with the Victoria Day Award-2009 to its
Sewa Dal at a special function held on 1 July 2009 at
Rowville.
The honour was bestowed
upon Rev. Sunny Duggal – Sewa Dal Sanchalak
with a Medal and Certificate of Appreciation presented at a
ceremony organised by Mr Nick MP.
Mr Nick appreciated the
efforts of Sewadal volunteers under Rev. Sunny's guidance
who proved their selfless service by participating in
community activities always.
The Citation said: “Sunny
is in-charge of volunteers at the Sant Nirankari Mission.
Sunny was instrumental in the relocation of the Mission to
its current location in Rowville. He organised a group of
volunteers to assist in the clean up of the 6.5 acre
property. Sunny was out there planting trees, installing
lighting, renovating the house and fixing the fencing. He
is also an inspirational leader to the mission’s members
that are attracted from across Melbourne. Sunny’s can do
attitude is something to aspire to.”
Mr Nick congratulated Rev.
Indar Jit, Rev. Harbhajan Panchhi, Rev. D K Tuli and Rev.
Manjit Singh for participating in the Award ceremony and
supporting this community event.
