The Sun and the Wind

One day the Sun and the Wind were talking.  The Wind, in it’s usual way, began to speak loudly about it’s greatness as the Sun just listened on with a humble smile.

Challenging the Sun, the Wind sold they would put their power and strength to the test.  The Wind picked out a man walking on the earth below and said, ‘let’s see who can pull the coat off that msn’s body’.

Without waiting for a response, the Wind began to blow hard and fast.  It huffed and puffed with all it’s might, but the man just gripped his coat more tightly than before.  Eventually, with a look of shame and a long sign, the Wind gave up.

The Sun had been watching all this quietly.  In it’s own gentle way, the Sun began to shine down lovingly upon the man below.  Low and behold, it took but a few seconds for the man to take off his coat, and carry it under his arm.

The Sun proved that all the power and might in the universe is nothing compared to the power of gentleness and love.
