The Stork and the Fox
- by: Navita Muman
There once lived a fox and a stork who did not get on with one another.
One day, they both decided that they should sort out their difference and become friends.
So they resolved their problems, but deep in their hearts they still had a little hatred for each other.
The fox invited the stork for dinner one evening. The cunning fox purposely served the food in a very shallow dish so that the stork found it difficult to eat because of her long beak.
The fox saw that the stork still had a full plate of food and offered to finish her portion. The stork remained calm and did not complain although she felt very hungry. As she left, she invited the fox to come for dinner the following day.
The next day, the stork served the food in a long, narrow, cylinder dish so that the fox could not eat out of it. The stork finished her meal and noticed the fox had not touched his. So she ate his portion too, and the poor fox left hungry and angry.
The moral of this short story is that if we do bad deeds to others, other will treat us in the same way. As said the Holy Bible Do unto others as you would have others do unto you if we want people to respect us, and be caring towards us, we must give them respect and care first.
Sometimes we may give others respect and not get anything in return, but we must remember that it is our duty to love, care and respect everyone, regardless of their age, religion, race, etc.
Let us treat everybody equally and make this world a better place for everybody.
