Satguru
- Rahul Singh
We should realise that there is no difference between Satguru and God. God comes to us through a human being, to reveal himself. He comes as the Satguru. For God to talk to us, he adopts a chosen body.
As God is eternal, so too is Satguru. Of course, the human body cannot last forever and one day must perish. But the Satguru stays forever, because his world is eternal – his word is really Nirankar.
Satguru’s greatest gift is the word, or gyan. It is the purest gift of all. This gift of knowing is given for our benefit. If we do not act upon this knowledge, we have no desire to be with Niankar.
Although Satguru and Nirankar are one, we know that Baba Ji often refers to himself as DASS – which means humble servant. We should realise that Satguru is giving an example to us all. We should live up to this example, so that we can be like him.
We can all be good and saintly in the bhawan, but we should act the same when we leave the four walls of a place of worship. Let us all be humble, and sincerely receive Satguru’s gift. Let us know Satguru and Nirankar as one.
