FORM AND FORMLESS

FORMLESS.  Let us understand first what Formless is.  Basically Formless is something we can’t touch, taste, smell and is colourless.  However it is there – it exists beyond the senses.

Form, however is the complete opposite.  We can touch, smell and taste something that has a certain shape or form.  Also something with form can have a colour.

Now let us take the word Satguru – what is Satguru?  SAT this means truth, GU means darkness, RU means light.  In simple language, Satguru is the true teacher who takes up from darkness and places us in light.  He is the true form of this Formless God Nirankar, the one who can reveal this Formless Truth to us through God Knowledge (Gyan).

The human mind is said to be so vast.  However, it will not be able to understand and believe in something it cannot see.  That is why we need the formless to take form and make us humans appreciate his existence in a way more easily understood by the human mind.  The Satguru is the teacher.  In a science class, students just can’t understand things by looking at a blank blackboard or looking in textbooks.  The students have no real knowledge about the subject.  So for them to understand there needs to be a teacher present who can explain from the text books and write things on the blackboard.  Similarly, Satguru has to be present for us to understand and experience this Formless God, through Gyan.

Now we are able to accept that the Formless God resides everywhere.  We can go on accepting the fact that he is also in you and me.

In today’s world, the Satguru of our time is Baba Hardev Singh Ji and only with His grace alone can we attain God-knowledge and know about and unite ourselves with Formless God.
