Running
What are you? Are you the physical
attributes that you have been born with such as eyes, ears, feet, legs etc? Are you the
way you speak? Do you shout, whisper, and have an accent?
Once I ran. I had been running for my
fourteen years. Sometimes I would be running so fast that I would forget what I had seen
and done that very day. Sometime I would run and think about all those people who decided
not to run but to walk like Mr. Wan, and sometimes I saw people who just stood there and
thought that they were moving just as fast as me, like Mrs. Seymour. But me, I was
definitely running.
I dont really know why I
stopped running though, but I do remember having the urge to stop and ask Mr. Wan why he
was walking. He replied: by running, I can not see all the things that surround me,
thus I must walk and take note of what I am seeing.
I also saw Mrs. Seymour that day and
asked her why she never had to run but always seemed to keep up with me.
It was quite funny that I ran all
these years (never got tired mind you), but I never really knew where I was going, where I
had to be and when I had to be there.
In order to go somewhere we must have
a destination. Where do you want to go? Do you want to go to the place where war and hurt
surrounds you or do you want to go to the place where there is love and peace. Or does the
same one destination have all of these things? You see where there is war, there will be
peace, where there is hurt, there will be love. Things may take time but they need effort.
Lets learn to be grateful for where, and for what we have and dont have.
