The life of a True Master

- Rajinder Dhani (Langley)

God: first cause, unlimited consciousness, infinite intelligence. Involves Himself in matter and manifests in numerous forms. God Himself becomes involved in matter  and with He becomes less than Himself in a form  is nevertheless entirely Himself in spiritual potential, and True. Nothing can become ‘this’ or ‘that’ but God. There is absolutely nothing else but God.

The purpose is not to suffer and waste this valuable life, but to find a true master and realize God, so that life can be lived in contentment and attainment.

Every year for the last 21 years, we all gather together around the world on April 24th to pay Tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, who sacrificed his life for us, and we also remember those saints, who also sacrificed their lives so that we may prosper with the Nirankari Mission through the great teachings of Baba Ji.

First and foremost he was a True Master and revealed to the seeker the ultimate all prevailing Truth. He made humble servants of God and not super humans, or controllers of man. He dedicated his entire life to bringing peace on earth and man closer to man, lifting and demolishing all barriers of colour, cast, and creed, rich and poor. He gave us five principals in order that we may lead a saintly life according and revealed the formless God. He directed us to surrender ourselves to only one formless God and pray to him, and only him the all prevailing, and to respect all the prophets of the past and their teachings.

All those who have had a great opportunity to be in the company of Baba Ji, will tell that He made everyone feel at ease, and important in His presence. He made them feel His own and invariable they became His own. The unique aspect of Baba Ji was that he did not only preach, but practiced first himself what he advised to be right.

His unlimited capacity to work day and night no matter how big or small, or for whoever and whenever he was approached. He made everyone feel his own and always gladly solved any problems. He traveled extensively to preach the ideals of the Nirankari Mission within India, and throughout the entire world. He did not force his views, and did not impose upon any one to change their diet, dress, living, or any Religion. Whether anyone be Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Christian, his message to everyone was to know ‘God who ye worship’. He traveled day and night and did not want anyone to suffer and aimlessly waste a precious life for nothing. He contributed for the good of all.

"The master is immortal. This does not apply to physical body but the Divine word/Knowledge (Gian). The body perishes but not the Word, which is eternal. As a container is valued for its contents, the Master’s body is worshipped and esteemed because of his Knowledge and his teaching, what is important is the Masters’ World and not his body. Therefore we should give prime importance to his Word, following and living up to his words".

(From the memorable words of Baba Gurbachan)

We will come a long way towards understanding life and ourselves, and what is expected of us if we continue to follow the teachings of Baba Gurbachan Singh ji under the guidance of Baba Hardev Singh Ji, who has repeated the same to us since 1980.

Man is not on earth solely to build taller buildings, have children, explore outer space, explore deep into oceans, or make destructive explosions to destroy everything! To know God - to be aware of the Divine in all creatures - and to live in this awareness is being spiritually gifted. There is only one mind, one spirit, one presence, and one being in all creatures, which is God. Whoever perceives God perceives his perfection, perceives Him inhabiting all creatures.

Let us not waste any more time merely delivering speeches on our Masters’ lives but live up to their teachings. Let us all join force and participate with the Master to spread his word to mankind to bring peace on earth so man lives in perfect harmony, just as the Master expects from us.
