Local History

In 1967 the very first congregation was held in Ilford in the presence of Baba Avtar Ji, who was on a spiritual tour of England at the time. Congregations were usually held at the homes of local devotees, the first beginning at Rev S.P. Bhandari Ji's residence. This devotee has been a member of the Mission since the very early days, and was only of the first few who came to seek residence in England - bringing the message of truth with him.

Spiritual Congregation were officially set up by in 1993 Rev K.R.Chadda ( General Secretary) For Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM) who was on a missionary tour for the Mission. Prior to this monthly Santsangs were being held in Grays on Sundays. With the inspiration and support of Rev S.P. Bhandari an executive Member of SNM England, and members of the Ilford Congregation Grays Branch was established for which Rev. Piara Singh was Made Local In-charge. Grays Congregations are held regularly every Tuesday of each week alternatively at the residence of participant's houses.
